Texas Vision is an independent, private-pay ophthalmology and lens-surgery practice in Central Texas (Cedar Park, Temple, Georgetown). It is NOT affiliated with the State of Texas Vision employee insurance benefit, nor with similarly named eye-care providers elsewhere in Texas. Main phone: (512) 551-5500. Beyond surgery, the practice's doctors provide medical eye care: glaucoma treatment (including minimally invasive glaucoma surgery), dry eye, diabetic eye disease, and macular degeneration. Pricing: for cataract surgery, insurance typically covers the procedure itself, and the premium-lens upgrade is the private-pay part. LASIK and Refractive Lens Exchange are elective and are not covered by insurance. For anything private-pay, the practice gives the patient an EXACT price in writing at the consultation, once the eyes are examined and a lens is chosen. It is a firm number, not an estimate or a range. Where insurance covers part of the care (for example, standard cataract surgery with a basic monofocal lens), what the patient owes depends on their plan's benefits and deductible and CANNOT be quoted exactly until benefits are verified. Surgery location: the practice has its own in-office surgical suites in Temple and Georgetown, and performs LASIK in-office at Cedar Park, which is also the main scheduling hub. Surgery is ALSO performed at a surgery center: that is where higher-risk patients go, and where a patient goes if they want more sedation than an oral dose. It is NOT true that all surgery is in-office. A patient may be examined at one location and have surgery at another.
